Fathers Day Church Notes

"Time to Bring God Back Home"
In 2 Samuel 6, speaks of David picking 30000 chosen men, and he brought them together to get the Ark of God. The Ark of God is where God's presence is. He got some chosen men to bring home the presence of God. Our troubles in our live stem from God not being present in our home. Not just part time, not just Sundays, but everyday and everywhere. So our problems is that we have evicted God from our house. To bring God back, you got to invite Him back with some praise. You got to le God know that you really want Him around. Just like when a soldier comes back from war, we make banners, have a party and make a joyful noise for his return. But God has fought so many battles for us, we should praise Him when He comes to our house. When a newborn come home, we make some many changes to the home, we take things out, we plug up outlets, we do everything to prepare for the new arrival. We should do the same for God when you bring Him home. You gotta clean up some things when u bring home the New Arrival. But u must remember that your praise aint enough. You can't fool God by just praising on Sunday, God knows how u are everyday of your life. Your obedience is better than sacrifice. All God wants you to do is obey His word. In the story... Even after the praise, after the Ark fell Uzzah tried to pick it up, and died. This shows that your praise isn't good enough. Anyone who touches the Ark has to be obedient, if not you're gonna die. So David gets frustrated it leaves it at the house of Obed-Edom and left for 3 months. And with the Ark being in his house, his family was blessed with increase. You have to obey God, praise is not enough. If you're relationships aren't working, what aren't you doing to obey God. David goes back to Obed-Edoms house after hearing all the blessing God has bestowed on his house. After getting back the Ark, David praised God the whole walk back. David praised bc of the blessing he knew that was coming home. He was praising in advance. He ran, leaped, twirled all over the city in praise for God. When he got back home, the daughter of Saul, Michal, talked down on how he acted. She said the priest shouldnt act how the servants do. David replied by saying "I didn't do it for you. I was praising the Lord, I don't care how humiliating I might look, I will celebrate God". And with her negativity on how God was being praised, God made her childless for the rest of her days. You praise God however God moves you and never complain on how someone else praises. So don't be mad at Obed-Edom for getting blessed, just go get what he has and bring God home.
